Students whose learning, behavior, or emotional needs are not being successfully met under existing circumstances
are typically referred by a teacher and/or parent for an SST meeting.
The SST meeting is an opportunity for the
Teachers, Counselor, and Parents to meet and discuss information about a student. Information may include areas of strengths
and areas of weaknesses, attendance, possible strategies and modifications that can be made. At the close of the meeting an
action plan will be established to better support the student.
The parents’ role in the SST is to
provide valuable information regarding their child’s strengths and areas of concern. As well as participate in developing
a positive intervention plan for their child.
Please contact your child’s counselor for more information
regarding setting up an SST meeting.
