Classroom Expections and Behavior Discipline Consequences

Classroom Expections
- Enter the room quietly and be ready to work.
- Stay in your seat.
- Raise your hand and wait for permission
to speak.
- Treat school property and everyone with respect.
- Have all of your supplies.
- Be on task.
- Restrooms are to be used during passing periods/lunch.
- Follow
all other Sandburg Middle School Rules.
Behavior Discipline Consequences
- Any rule violation = 1 card pull
- 3 card pulls in 1 day = 30 minutes of teacher detention the next day. Written notification will be sent home with
student.
- 4 card pulls in 1 day = 60 minutes of teacher detention the next day.
Written notification will be sent home with student.
- 5 card pulls in 1 day (Rule
#s 1, 2, 3, or 4) = referral to office, 2 hours minimum referral detention assigned. Written notification will be sent home
with student.
- 7 or more card pulls (Rule #s 1, 2, 3, or 4) within 10 school days
or non-possession of card will result in student being placed on contract #1 and 1 hour of teacher detention the next day.
- Violation of contract #1 may result in student being placed on contract #2 and 2 hours referral detention
assigned by teacher.
- Continued violation of contract #2 will ultimately result
in suspension from school and/or recommendation to the Opportunity Program housed at the Whitcomb campus.
- Negative report from a substitute teacher will result in and automatic 2 hours of referral detention.
- Chewing gum will result in an automatic 1 hour referral detention.
